The first verse of this old favorite is introduced by a soprano clarinet duet. Instruments are then added to the ensemble as the music builds to an exciting conclusion. The somewhat traditional beginning is followed by sections that allow the musician to practice counting and playing syncopated rhythms. This is an excellent concert selection, and a good piece to use for solo/ensemble festival. An optional 3rd clarinet part has been included to be used in place of an alto clarinet if needed. An optional E-flat contra alto clarinet part has been included to use in place of the B-flat contrabass clarinet if needed.
